Duplex Steel S31803/S32205 Ferrule Fittings

Alloy description-
UNS S32205 and UNS S31803 are usually referred to as duplex 2205. The duplex name is brought out from the combined microstructure that is containing an equal proportion of austenite and ferrite. It was developed earlier and was used for combating the corrosion issues that were caused by aggressive chemical products and chloride bearing cooling waters. Later on the addition of nitrogen in the form of alloying agent that further has made duplex stainless steel highly appreciable. Usually, UNS S3108 is designated to 2205 duplex grade. It is available complying good corrosion resistance composition (UNS S 32205). The difference is only with UNS number.

UNS S23305 is containing a bigger amount of nitrogen promising excellent ability to corrosion resistance. It composes of alloyants such as chromium 21% - 23%, manganese 2%, nickel 4.5% - 6.5%, silicon of 1%, molybdenum 3.5% - 5% with the iron as well. Also found a few amounts of other elements like phosphorous, carbon, nitrogen and sulfur.
