Hastelloy C22 Pipes and Tubes

Hastelloy C22 is also recognized as C22 alloy which is a versatile austenitic alloy. This is a nickel, chromium, molybdenum and tungsten containing alloyoffering improved resistance to crevice corrosion, pitting, and stress corrosion cracking. High chromium of this alloy is responsible for offering resistance to oxidizing media. Tungsten and molybdenum in this alloy offer resistance to reducing media. Also, this alloy shows excellent resistance to welt chlorine as well as a mixture having oxidizing acid, nitric acid along with chlorine ions.

Hastelloy C22 Pipes & Tubes also shows resistance to seawater, cupric chlorides, brine, and both organic and inorganic acids. This alloy is beneficial

for use in the multipurpose plants where upset conditions occur rapidly. In the weld heat-affected area, nickel alloy also resists the creation of grain boundary precipitate.

Hastelloy C22 Pipes cannot be used in temperature service above 1250 degree F because of the development of detrimental phases occurring above this temperature. Hastelloy C22 Tubes can be used in a wide range of applications. These tubes and pipes are highly used in an incineration scrubber system, chlorination system, wastewater processing, cellophane manufacturing, etc. Coldforming can be used for forming Hastelloy C-22; intermediate annealing is required because of the work hardening. Forging must be performed among 1750-2050 degree F and followed by instant cooling. Annealing can be done at the temperature range 2020-2150 degree F and followed by quenching. Cooling at the faster speed prevents the creation of damage phase which usually occurs among 1400-1800 degree F. welding of the tubes can be done via gas metal arc, gas tungsten or shielded metal arc method.
