Stainless Steel 304/304L Sheets and Plates

Type 304 is austenitic stainless steel or non-magnetic SS. It has an 18% chromium and 8% nickel alloy that is why this alloy also called as 18/8 stainless steel. Type 304 has the best workability property and it has a welded and forming property as well. And also have high corrosion and oxidation resistance and high strength property. precipitation during the welding process. 304L has a lower mechanical property than 304 but it is used for its versatility. It is also used in chemical processes, food processing, and manufacturing nut and bolts, etc. It has the best corrosive property and never affected to environmental rust.

Stainless steel 304L sheets and plates have the best corrosion property because of addition a small amount of molybdenum. 304l plates are used in marine applications due to its chloride corrosion resistance property, it is working up to 1010 degree C temperature. The 304L /304 stainless steel sheets and plates also used in the hospital as a surgical instrument and in chemical industries, offshore and seawater piping, etc. The 304 plates are used in the reactor.
