Alloy 20 is an authentic alloy. It is iron-based with excellent corrosion resistance. Alloy 20 is also known by name Carpenter 20 Fasteners. It contains nickel-iron-chromium which gives its extra qualities. It was developed to offer maximum resistance from acid attack especially sulphuric acid (H2SO4). It is also called UNS NO8020 fasteners. It can also protect itself from sulphuric acid. It contains nickel, chromium, molybdenum and even copper which enhance its corrosion resistance properties. Stabilization of columbium is also done to minimize carbide precipitation during its welding process. They also offer strong resistance to cracking. .

Properties and Composition:
Its mechanical properties are good enough hence it can easily be fabricated. Alloy 20 has good immunity against chloride stress corrosion cracking. Other specifications are ASTM B729, B464, B366, B463, B473, and B462. Due to its good and abundant supply, it has become a popular choice in all relevant industries. It has decent thermal conductivity and a good coefficient of thermal expansion. It has effective yield strength, elongation, hardness. Forming of alloy 20 can be done to obtain maximum ductility but this process can adversely affect the stability of the material. In welding methods, it is preferred to use with anything except oxyacetylene welding. It can be hardened by cold work cold working conditions it can successively be formed. It can also be hot formed without any problems.
