Hastelloy C276 alloy is the chromium, molybdenum, and nickel-based super alloy that are having tungsten in it. This is providing very good corrosion resistance at ranges of the severe atmosphere. The high molybdenum and nickel content is making this nickel steel alloy resistant to crevice corrosion and pitting at the reducing atmosphere. The presence of chromium is serving resistance to oxidizing media. The low carbon content is minimizing carbide precipitation at welding for maintaining the corrosion resistance ability at as-welded conditions. This nickel-based allot is resisting grain boundary precipitation formations at the weld heat-affected area. This is what makes the alloy suitable for chemical process purposes at the welded conditions.
