Stainless Steel 904L Fasteners

904L grade is austenitic steel and used in the piping system, heat exchanger and pollution control instrument, etc. because of molybdenum alloy, it is resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. It has copper content help to resistance to all acids. It has low carbon content, because of low carbon it is resistance to sensitization and intergranular corrosion. High alloying content of 904L grade increases its resistance to chloride corrosion stress cracking. 904 grades have a high quantity of copper, molybdenum, manganese and have low carbon content. Stainless steel 904L offers toughness, weldability, and formability because it is a non magnetic.

The fastener is used to join and affixes two pipes and other equipment together. The fastener is available in different types like screw, bolts, rivets, and nuts, etc and has a high mechanical property. Stainless steel 904L fastener shows excellent resistance property to seawater, sulfuric acids, and chloride attack. Due to high nickel content, it resists to stress corrosion cracking and improve its strength. 904L grade shows excellent oxidation resistance at a high temperature above 400 degrees C. the grade 904L does not require any type of heat processing like preheat and post weld heat treatment. The fabrication process is completed under the cold working and due to high steel and low sulfur alloy; its formability is very easily at high temperature.
